Send warnings and information to all mobile users within a specific geographic area
SMS Alert is an API for sending SMS to all or selected mobile phones within a geographic area in Telenor’s mobile network or to Telenor customers abroad. SMS Alert is used to send alerts to the population in situations of life threatening danger.
SMS Alert also supports SMS to foreign customers who are located in Telenor Norway’s network.
Whitelist
Telenor also supports whitelists where SMS are sent only to those customers that are included in the whitelist and who are located in the notification area. This may for instance be used for location-based information or marketing where the consent of the end user has been given upfront.
